Sound familiar?

Most small business tech is held together with tape.

None of these are big problems on their own. Together they eat hours every week, and they always break at the worst possible time.

That's where we come in. Not just when something breaks, but before it does.

Business email still runs through a Gmail address, and nobody remembers who controls the domain.
The Wi-Fi drops right when a customer is standing at the counter.
The phone system still plays a greeting recorded years ago, and nobody knows how to change it.
Someone prints every order by hand because that's how it's always been done.
The website is slow, out of date, or you're not sure who can log into it.
Your "IT person" is a nephew. He moved to Denver.

Why one call matters

When something breaks, you shouldn't have to play detective.

Email stops arriving. Is it the host? The domain? The registrar? Microsoft? With five vendors, you spend the afternoon on hold finding out whose problem it is.

With Humanear, you call the person who set it all up and knows how it connects. Usually it's fixed before you'd have gotten through the first phone tree.

  • Everything documented, so nothing lives only in someone's head
  • Your domain and your data stay yours
  • Plain-English answers, no jargon

How it works

We listen first. Then we get to work.

Listen

A conversation about what's working, what isn't, and what's driving you nuts. No sales pitch.

Plan

A clear plan and a budget before anything starts. Some work is a flat project price, some is hourly. You'll know which up front.

Build

Set up right the first time: secured, documented and tested, so it doesn't come back to bite you later.

Look after it

Updates, backups, monitoring and a real person to call. Most clients come to us with a fire and stay for the prevention.

The part most people miss

Small automations. Big hours back.

The biggest time savings usually aren't new software. They're the little manual steps someone repeats fifty times a week because nobody ever set it up any other way.

Orders that print themselves

A WooCommerce store emailed every order to the office, where someone opened each one and hit print. Now new orders go straight to her printer. Nobody touches them.

"Just text us a photo"

Customers used to email pictures from their phones, which half of them couldn't figure out. We text-enabled the business number, so now they just text it.

"If I ever had a business, no matter what it was, I was going to call it Humanear." Phil Ellis, after watching Blue Velvet for about the thirtieth time

Who you'll be talking to

A real person. The same one every time.

I'm Phil. I spent ten years at Gateway Computers, in tech support and then on the Gateway website, back when the web was brand new. When the layoffs came in 2001 I didn't go looking for another job. I kept a promise I'd made to a friend, and started Humanear.

Twenty-five years later, the name still means what it did then: listen first.
